Are you ready? The FIRST ringette tournament in the Maritimes will be taking place in Fredericton, November 19-21 as we get ready to welcome over 60 TEAMS!
Volunteering
All FYRA parents, we need your help! Please ensure you sign up for at least 5 hours of volunteer work, we can't hold this tournament without you!! If you didn't receive the Volunteer Google Sheet via email please let us know at FYRAringette@gmail.com
We're looking to fill the following spots...
Rink Coordinator- This is the person who helps to ensure that things are running smoothly in the rink. If you are an organized person, this job is for you. New this year, we ask that you commit to a minimum 2 hour block (2 x 1 hour shifts) for this position to provide more consistent coordination of activities at the rink. Click here for a detailed description of the role.
50/50- Adults must be present when selling tickets and collecting money in each rink during each game. Meaning, a minor is not allowed to do this role on their own, but would be great for a parent and child to team up. Click here for more detailed description of the role.
Timekeeper & Scorekeeper- At the U9 level we just need time keepers, then for U10 and above, every game requires both. Click here for a more detailed description of these roles.

Shot Clock Operator- This is required for Fredericton home games, U12 and up. Please click here for a more detailed description of this role.
Bottle Caps Game- This is a game of chance that our young players really enjoy (and is a big part of our fundraising efforts). We need volunteers to ensure things run smoothly and the cash is counted, thus it’s important to have an adult present at all times. Click here for the list of bottlecap game instructions for volunteers - and please note, for COVID safety, kids are not allowed to help with this year's game.
If you have questions on the volunteer positions then please contact your team manager or email Tracy Chafe (tracychafe709@gmail.com) and Leanne Reid (leannereid@yahoo.com).
When reporting to the rink for your volunteer shift, please ensure you seek out the rink coordinator in the rink office (which will be clearly marked) to sign in to ensure we have accounted for your volunteer time.
COVID Measures
To best get everyone in and out of the rinks as safely and efficiently as possible, we will be doing a special bracelet for the tournament. Everyone 12 years and over will be asked to show proof of double vaccination, they will then be provided with a bracelet to wear all weekend. The bracelet must be shown to gain access to facilities and please ensure you still have proof of double vaccination & ID on you at all times as you could still be asked. We will also be providing children with bracelets - we will need proof of age of kids.
