Consider Volunteering with FYRA (2023-24)


Are you interested in becoming more involved with the FYRA? As we look ahead to the 2023-24 season we will be looking to fill several positions both on our Executive as well as other important roles.

Based on the FYRA Policies & Procedures, each executive member is required to:

  1. attend the meetings of the Executive, and Executive sub-committees to which they may be appointed, general meetings of the Association and any special meetings as required;
  2. submit a written report of their activities to the Annual General Meeting;
  3. promote the positive image of the FYRA and objectively represent the decisions made by the Executive;
  4. execute the responsibilities and authorities of their positions;
  5. have an understanding of, and agree to abide by the content and the intent of, the Constitution, Policies and Procedures of the

 

FYRA Executive (2022-24 season)
All members of the Executive, excepting the Past President shall be elected every two years on an alternating basis at an annual meeting. The following Executive positions are up for re-election for the 2021-22 season.

Director of Managers - 2-year term - OPEN
The Director of Managers is responsible for the assignment, development, recruitment, evaluation of managers, reporting on activities at regular meetings, maintaining the Managers Handbook, and annual review of managers handbook.

Director of Coaching Development - 2-year term - OPEN 
The Director of Coaching Development is to actively participate in the continued development of, and record the progress of, all FYRA coaches, report on activities at regular meetings, organize coaching development clinics through RNB, be responsible for the assignment, development, recruitment and evaluation of coaches, recommend coaching staff to the board for ratification, supervise team selection process and implement and annual review the coaching development program.

Player Rep - 2-year term - OPEN
The Player Representative provides an athlete’s perspective to Board deliberation

Director at Large - 1 year term - OPEN
The Director at Large is responsible for the FUNdamentals U7 Learn to Skate program as well as overseeing the FYRA clothing, in working with the Director of Promotion and Retention

- Director of Goaltending Development - 2-year term - Robb Clarke reoffering
- Director of Promotion and Retention - 2-year term - Stacey Russell reoffering
- Secretary - 2-year term - Christine Bernard reoffering
